David Tiftickjian & Sons Oriental Rugs & Wall to Wall Carpet was founded by Dickran S. Tiftickjian in 1892. Since then, four generations of Tiftickjians (and counting) have grown up in the oriental rug business in Buffalo, N.Y.
We have more than 120 years of experience in rugs and carpets. And we’re proud to be one of the oldest family businesses in Western New York.
Among the other Western New York family-owned businesses open more than 100 years include:
The Orchard Dale Fruit Farm (1804) has been owned and operated by the Brown family for more than 200 years. Robert Brown II and his son Robert III are the seventh and eight generations to work on the family farm in Waterport, Orleans County.
The Delaware North Company (1815) owned by the Jacobs family. Based in Buffalo, N.Y., they own and operate the Boston Bruins and TD Garden. They’re known for their hospitality management services.
Buffalo Wire Works Co., Inc., (1869) formerly known as Scheeler & Sons, is owned and operated by Charles “Guy” Scheeler, the sixth generation of Scheelers to work in the company. The wire company was founded by Martin Scheeler, Sr. (pictured).
Harbison Brothers’s steel drum and barrel company was founded in 1893. Now, Harbison Brothers is a woman-owned business, run by descendants of the Harbison Brothers.
David Tiftickjian & Sons is located on 5225 Sheridan Dr. in Williamsville, N.Y., and 300 Delaware Ave., in Buffalo, N.Y.
