Plastic colored eggs, stuffed bunnies, gift baskets and chocolate. I’m sure you’ve seen them recently, lining the aisles of every store. It means it’s that time of year again: Easter.
But as you’re dying your Easter eggs with you little ones, you might have a little accident on your great- great- grandmother’s beautiful oriental rug. Yes, red food coloring stains, but don’t you fret.
Mix 1/2 tsp. of dishwashing liquid with 1/2 cups of lukewarm water. Blot the solution on the stain, working it gently with a clean, white cloth. The stain should transfer the cloth material. When cleaning a rug, it is important to blot the stain and not rub it. It is more effective to remove the stain this way.
If this doesn’t work, bring it to us, the carpet and rug experts at David Tiftickjian & Sons. With more than 100 years of experience in rugs and carpeting, we’ve seen it all.
